Those who have the means to give, have a responsibility to build a more equitable society that outlasts them.

EDUCATION

Quess Foundation

16,000 children. 75 government schools.

School education is a key focus area for the Quess Foundation. We believe the government schools play an important role in India’s socio-economic development, with nearly half of the country’s students studying in them.

The Foundation focuses on practical interventions that make learning more accessible and meaningful, while addressing challenges such as teacher shortages, limited digital infrastructure, and gaps in foundational literacy and numeracy.

The AIF, Fairfax Financial Holdings and Quess Foundation have supported the construction of a 350-bed paediatric speciality centre at CMC Vellore’s Ranipet campus. The initiative will expand access to specialised care for children from some of India’s most underserved communities.

Started in 2024, ICPH brings together diverse disciplines to address India’s public health challenges and develop scalable solutions. The Centre is co-located with a multi-specialty hospital and medical college being developed by IISc.

In two years, ICPH has established four international and five government partnerships, undertaken 11 research projects and published 12 papers. Its PhD programme began in 2026 with a first cohort of 14 scholars, with a Master’s in Public Health to follow.

ICPH aims to train the next generation of public health professionals, build big-data capabilities and undertake research to strengthen healthcare systems.

Niram is a 75-bed palliative care centre that commenced operations in 2026, providing inpatient, outpatient and home care services to people in rural Karnataka. Johns Hopkins University is the technical partner for the project, supporting the centre’s capabilities in research, training and knowledge dissemination.
