After a decade as an HR leader, Ajit Isaac began his entrepreneurial journey in 2000, when he founded People One Consulting, an HR services firm. The company’s growth was shaped in part by what he observed during a visit to the United States in 2001, where he saw temporary staffing developing into a significant industry. Around the same time, India’s private equity market was evolving, creating new possibilities for entrepreneurs to build businesses at scale. In 2004, he sold a controlling stake in People One Consulting to Adecco, one of the world’s largest staffing companies, while continuing his association with Adecco for the next three years.
In India, a decade after liberalisation, the IT and services boom was accelerating demand for talent and drawing millions towards new opportunities. With formal employment unable to keep pace, Ajit Isaac founded IKYA in 2007 to help address that gap by connecting people to organised employment. IKYA eventually became Quess Corp.
In 2013, Fairfax Holdings joined as a long-term investment partner and became part of Quess Corp, the founding business of Triventure Holdings. Its patient capital provides the group’s four businesses with stability and the freedom to build for the long term. Today, the promoters, Fairfax Holdings and Ajit Isaac, together own approximately 57% of each listed entity.
Through acquisitions and expansion into businesses beyond staffing, Quess Corp evolved into a group of companies employing more than 600,000 people across ten countries. Today, those businesses operate across workforce solutions, technology, digital business services, and infrastructure.
